Eva Bartmann writes her songs all by herself which becomes evident at first reading. Her lyrics are very personal since she almost exclusively turns her own experiences into songs. Her interesting stories are gripping since they are true to life. In spite of the melancholy, being typical for country music, the fundamental emotion she transports with her song is hope.

I found my little secret box the other day
When I was packing things to move away
It brought a big ol’ smile on my face
And made me think of a “wonderful fairytale”

Chorus
Back when I was 21 – didn’t know what’s right or wrong
My roping hero came to rescue me
And he said: “Girl, just follow your dreams”

I still remember the day when we first met
My heart was speeding like a racing jet
No matter where I went I ran into you
Just as if somebody was pushing my straight to you

Chorus

Bridge 1
But that golden ring on your hand
Told me this story would never have a happy end

I read my little book on page 31
When we spent together all night long
Making love so desperately
God, it felt just like a dream

Chorus

Bridge 2
Some old pictures and your autograph
My diary and some little stuff
Will always take me to another place
When I was still a pretty young face
